Biography

As a child Alan always loved drawing and because he
did well artistically at school, decided to follow art as a
career. He attended Walthamstow School of Art from
1961-65. There he was privliged to be taught by tutors
of the calibre of Peter Blake, Fred Cuming and
Ken Howard.

Alan graduated in 1965 with a National Diploma
in Design (NDD) in fine art.

After following a career in advertising, graphic
design and illustration he has now returned to
fine art to concentrate his efforts initially on
exploring the techniques of watercolour painting
and acrylics.

He enjoys landscapes, still life and portraiture and
drawing and sculpting the human figure but will
tackle almost any subject.

His goals are to hold a one-man exhibition in the
future, and to develop skills in acrylics and re-train
in etching and other forms of printmaking. Alan has
a special interest in portait painting and portrait
sculpture and would like to develop this area further.
